As in past elections, Hess maintains his support for limited government. He plans to ignore the federal government in every way possible and repeal as many state laws as he can. He has made eliminating the state's personal income tax his top priority.
Hess said no matter who is elected, the state will still hit financial bottom sometime next year. But he said Arizona can soften the blow "by putting real people into office who will make changes." If elected governor, Hess said he will remove regulations and taxes for small businesses.
