IL: An Opening for Greens in Failure of Democratic-Republican Two-Party System

In Illinois' News Gazette, Tom Kacich sees an opening for the Green Party in the failure of the Democratic-Republican two-party system of government:
Illinois Democrats have a gubernatorial candidate favored by only half the members of his own party . . . The Republican ticket has a gubernatorial candidate favored by 20 percent of his party . . .  Are either of these candidates electable?  "Gentlemen, many voters see you as flawed candidates," opined the Chicago Tribune last week. . . . It may be another ideal situation for the up-and-coming Green Party. "The economy is in a shambles. The budget deficit problem has grown worse. Everything is similar to 2006, except worse," said Rich Whitney, the Green Party gubernatorial candidate in 2006 and again this year.

Also, the Lt. Gov. candidate of the Democrats has admitted to beating his wife, iirc. That's awful, but it's great for the Green Party.

Jeez. The Democrats and Republicans sure do know how to pick 'em.

I think this is the third party race to send donations and support this year.
