FL: Snitker vs. Rubio for the Libertarian Vote in Senate Race

In a post at Libertarian Viewpoint comparing the Senate candidacies of career Republican politician Marco Rubio and Libertarian candidate Alexander Snitker, Jonathan Roaf is tempted to side with the Republican lesser evil:
Often, I am confronted with the challenge of being loyal to the Libertarian Party in the face of logic. For, as logic sees it, the Libertarian Party has not a fighting chance in winning an election. However, I do realize with every loss comes a greater recognition of the Libertarian Party, and for some, that is enough. In this particular event, in which we have a senate race with a Libertarian candidate, Snitker, and a Republican, fiscally conservative candidate like Marco Rubio, I would have to side with logic, and vote for the latter.
Roaf goes on to make a case in support of Marco Rubio.  Alexander Snitker has apparently responded in the comments, arguing against a number of the points brought up by Roaf:
This is Alexander Snitker. I would like to Respond to Jonathan Raof and his logic . . .   1. Marco [Rubio] will not sign the 10th amendment pledge; 2. Marco has only stated the Audit and has NOT spoke about ending the Federal Reserve;  3. Marco does not think the Fairtax is realistic . . . 4. Marco does not support a Non-interventionist foreign policy at all. Below is a quote from Marco at CPAC.

Do you Think Raof has a point? Should Libertarians back Rubio?

Not in any way, shape or form! Raof's so-called "logic" is nothing more than a weak, cowardly rationale to justify supporting the reproduction of the Democratic-Republican global warfare and corporate welfare state, and ensuring the continuous control of our government by the ruling criminal political class.

D.eris,

Did you read Raof's original article. I think he has a point. With Rubio and Snitkners close platform similarities, it will do the Libertarians well to throw their weight behind a candidate that can actually win! Rubio 2010...and if I had too, I would call myself a Libertarian.

I did read Roaf's article. It is an argument for favorite betrayal. In my view, the Democratic-Republican two-party state is a threat to constitutional republican government. The only way to counter this threat is by electing appropriate third party and independent candidates to office. Rubio is a perfect exemplar of the parasitic Democratic-Republican political class. He is clearly nothing more than a professional careerist politician, who, so far as I can tell, has never held a real job in his life, but has rather spent his entire career parasitically living at the expense of tax payers.

Republicans may fall for his schtick, but Libertarians should be smarter than that, and building the party. The real candidate for liberty, small government, as always, is the Libertarian candidate, and that is Alex Snitker.

His last name is RAof, not Roaf. Raof is a well off college student, so yah I guess he has never had a real job, but he will. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a parasite, but his arguments are sometimes annoying lol. He is certainly not living at the expense of tax payers anymore than any other college student I imagine.

Regardless, you do make a good point about how the Democratic-Republican two-party state is a threat to constitutional republican government. I agree the only way to counter this threat is by electing appropriate third party and independent candidates to office, however, such a thing is impossible...so why not the closest to a libertarian...Rubio...

Thanks

Whoopse, I thought you were talking about Raof originally, my mistake. Disregard first part please.

Thanks

No problem, and I mean no disrespect to RAof, of course.

"such a thing is impossible."

False. However, it will remain unlikely so long as the people of the United States allow themselves to be convinced by the professional propaganda campaigns of the Democratic and Republican Parties, who want us to believe that we are forever doomed to suffer under Democratic-Republican Party government and that all resistance is futile. The closest thing to a libertarian is a real Libertarian. In this race that is Alex Snitker, not Rubio.

p.s. you might be interested in my ten arguments against the Democratic-Republican two-party state and duopoly system of government.
