Poll: Independents Outnumber Republicans, Gain on Democrats

May finds 35.1% identifying as Democrats, matching the previous low recorded in February, and 32.0% describing themselves as Republicans. Unaffiliated adults rose to 32.8% from 32.5% the previous month.
