NY: Green Party Makes Ballot Access Push with Gubernatorial Campaign

From On the Wilder Side:
The only way that the Green Party can regain ballot status in NY is to get 50,000 votes for their Governor candidate in 2010. This opportunity comes only once every four years, and it only applies to the Governor’s race. Gaining ballot status will enable the Green Party to run more peace candidates, more single-payer candidates, more anti-fracking candidates, and more sustainable energy candidates. The last time that the Green Party of New York State had ballot status it set the record for running the most Green candidates of any state. . . .

It seems like every politician and interest group these days promises Green jobs, Green energy, a green economy. Doesn’t it make sense to support the real thing? A Green New Deal with the Green Party (www.gpny.org) . Howie Hawkins for Governor, Gloria Mattera for Lt. Governor. New York needs jobs now. For everyone. The Greens want a Green New Deal to put New Yorkers back to work. Green jobs building renewable energy, solar and wind power. Green homes, insulating old ones, cut energy use.
