TX: Libertarians Organizing From the Bottom Up, Calls for Willing Candidates

From the Ellis County Observer:

On this Day of Texas Independence, the Libertarian Party of Texas issues an urgent call for candidates. We need to build our team by electing local non-partisan candidates to office in the May 8th elections.

Why now?  – Did you know? – Only 10% of the voters cast a ballot in the May 8th non-partisan elections.  That means you can run for your local city council or school board with a much lower cost, and a much better chance of winning!

- Did you know? -  The Libertarian Party of Texas already has a base of support statewide of 5%, and that number goes up to 10% in certain parts of the state.  In a low turn-out May election, that 10% can be a winning majority of voters.  That’s how we already have 6 elected city councilmen in this state, but we need more!

-Did you know? - A generous local Libertarian has set aside funds to spend on your campaign.  That’s right.  We already have a political consultant and funds available to help you win your local office.

So why are you waiting?  We need you to sign up to run for local non-partisan office BEFORE this Friday.  Friday the 5th, and Monday the 8th are the DEADLINES to file for the May 8th elections.  Email director@lptexas.org or call 512-758-9134 right away, if you would like to be the next elected Libertarian officeholder.
