Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (I) may have changed his party affiliation for the Senate race this fall but his ties to indicted former state GOP Chairman Jim Greer continue to haunt him.Greer's attorney said in an interview this weekend that Crist approved the fundraising arrangement between the Republican Party of Florida and a company Greer allegedly used to skim more than $125,000 from the state party.
Crist was quick to deny any knowledge of the deal. He said on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday morning that the cooperation alleged by Greer's attorney, Damon Chase, is "absolutely untrue." He added: "Sometimes desperate people say desperate things, and it's very sad," Crist said of his one-time political ally, Greer.
